It isn’t just our Isle that’s Emerald

I know I’m waaaaay behind to be discussing the Golden Globes and the style that walked the red carpet, but for me, the dress of the night went to Ms. Jolie, who wore Atelier Versace.

Emerald. It just seems like a forgotton colour when it comes to red carpets, but the Golden Globes of ’11 sure changed that. I absolutely love this colour. Maybe because of its rarity is WHY I love it so. Alot of critics said the dress was too ‘structured’ on her, that it didn’t have enough skin showing etc but I find it perfect. Simple clenched in waist, all over beading which caught the lights in all the right places, simple make-up – choosing to accentuate her eyes and keep her lips nude, and minimal jewellery; just earrings.

Looking back on previous attire of Angie, it seems she herself is a fan of emerald, as at the 2009 Oscars, she wore Lorraine Schwartz emerald earrings at the hefty price tag of $2.5M. An emerald ring by the same jeweler was also seen on her finger.

And again, at the premier of her movie Salt in Tokyo, June of last year Angie has emerald earrings on! Albeit, a different style.

Other celebs to wear the stunning colour was the complete roide, star of Black Swan and contender on the night for a GG, Mila Kunis. She chose a one-shouldered Vera Wang creation with a mini train.

Then there was Catherine Zeta-Jones who wore a strapless number by designer Monique Lhuillier – a dress I, particularly didn’t like. It seemed like there was too much material going on, and looked like she was swimming in it!

It seemed like Emerald was the colour of the night for many beautiful ladies, but Angelina still wins over all. C’mon, Brad on the arm helped too. Like seriously…how do they get anything done? Hubba hubba…
