And so as Kate Moss’s reign as Topshop Queen comes to an end, in swoops designer David Koma to steal the crown.
So who exactly is Mr Koma and why should we be excited? Well, born in London, Dave graduated in 2009 from the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design with an MA in in Fashion after firstly completing a BA in Women’s Fashion. So it appears he knows something about fashion. ahem.
As we can see from the pic above, he’s a bit of a looker too!
His collection for Topshop is due in shops this February, and lookin at his work on http://www.davidkoma.com, his style seems right up Topshop’s street.
Koma is all about plenty of zips, tassels, metal, leather and unusual designing, with his current SS ’11 collection focusing on white, pink, yellow and black with buckets of attitude. Very rock and roll in my opinion…which I love.
His most familiar piece to us ordinary folk would probably be the black spiral dress worn by Cheryl Cole during the X Factor, with a similar creation worn by Beyonce.
Cannot wait to see Koma’s collaboration with Topshop…hoping for plenty of edgy pieces! Here are some of his SS ’11 designs.
