Right now we are smack bang in the middle of Better Fashion Week.
Last night was my favourite event thus far, where all the leading Irish names in fashion journalism, PR guru’s and designers came to do a spot of mentoring for eager fashion enthusiasts. I got to sit down with Corina Gaffey, Fashion Editor of STELLAR & KISS Magazine and pick her brain. I also annoyed Top Irish Stylist Angela Scanlon who looked amazing in double denim and a gorgeous long black coat. Kate O’ Dowd, Assistant Editor of IMAGE Magazine was so accomodating in answering all fashion related queries, as was Thinkhouse PR exec, James Kavanagh. Then Natalie B Coleman spoke of her future plans for her collections, which have just debuted in New York! Other mentors on the night who made themselves available for questioning were designer Eilis Boyle, Gareth Pitcher of Indigo & Cloth, and Stylist Aisling Farinella!
It was fantastic to just sit down with a beer and discuss the industry with it’s top players, in such a relaxing atmosphere.
After the mentoring portion of the evening came to a close, Constance Harris of the Irish Independent took to the floor upstairs to chair a panel discussion fronted by Irish designers and retailers about the future of Irish fashion production.
I’m gonna shut up now, and leave you with some snap shots of some of the Irish wears available this week in the Re Dress pop up shop beside George St Arcade
